The unit described here is a Monophonic unit hence the 360 Joule maximum energy. Portable defibrillator suitable as an on site aid of patients having cardiac arrest./ Operational requirements:
1. Our energy levels output energy adjustable from disarm, 0 joules to 360 joules into 50 Ohms in increments of 0/20/50/100/160/250/300/360J.
2. Energy limit: 50 joule maximum for internal paddles.
3. Charging time: <10 sec (AC power supply); <12 secs (fully charged battery).
4. Pulse output to be insulated and short circuit proof.
5. Synchronizer: ensures energy discharge within 20 secs of synch on cardio scope
6. Battery must be rechargeable with a battery support system.
7. 100% of the battery will provide 45 mins of monitoring; 30 mins of paging and 25 discharges at 360 joules.
8. Dual energy discharge buttons, one on each paddle.
9. Charge control via push button on panel.
10. Two electrode paddles, detachable from the front panel, must be fitted and tested on the machine (internal and external).
11. Paddle controls: charge (with indicator light).
12. Charge status indication on the unit and paddle: during charging: blinks; after charging is complete steady light of the LED.
13. Stored energy to be discharged in the following cases: 40 sec (+/-5sec) after charging starts; power is turned off; machine is set to monitoring mode; 300 secs after energy discharge; when the power source is switched from AC to battery during energy charging; paddles are disconnected from the main unit.
14. Status display: heart rate 20 -300 BPM.
15. Low battery indication.
16. Display monitor-single channel non fade with freeze button.
17. ECG lead selection: I, II, III.
18. Input to ECG: isolated ECG via defibrillator paddles.
19. ECG sweep speed 10/25/50mm/sec.
20. Input must be protected against high voltage defibrillator pulses and radio frequency.
